Hybrid vehicles have come a long way in just a few years, and the all-new 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid proves that the days of heavy, expensive, and unreliable hybrids are long gone. It's quite powerful for a vehicle this efficient, and boasts all of the comfort and safety options that you'll find in our gas-powered new model lineup. At last, this highly anticipated model has started to roll off of assembly lines and will soon arrive here at our Medford, OR dealership.
The new Accord Hybrid is produced at the Japanese automaker's primary production facility in Marysville, Ohio, where $19 million was invested to enlarge the facility in order to build the car.
So what does this hybrid have hidden under its hood?
The Accord Hybrid packs a 166 horsepower electric motor alongside a 141 horsepower four-cylinder gasoline engine, and, together, they achieve a rather impressive fuel economy rating. It even gets a few more miles per gallon than one of its closest competitors, which happens to have an all-electric powertrain.
This model shares many features with the 2013 Accord sedan that we have for sale here at Lithia Honda in Medford, but with a few hybrid-only features, including a grille with blue accents and a unique wheel design.
Last, but certainly not least, the Accord Hybrid has done extremely well in safety tests, achieving a top vehicle score from the NCAP and earning the designation of TOP SACETY PICK+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
