What's New?

The new Honda Pilot enters the 2025 model year with no major updates. So, shoppers will find the engine, tech, and design remain the same. That said, there are changes to the model's available trims. The base LX model is gone, making the Sport the new starter trim. Also, a new high-end trim called the Black Edition has been added.

Performance

Powering the new Honda Pilot is a 3.5-liter V6 engine that offers 285 horsepower and 262 lbs.-ft of torque. Front-wheel drive and a 10-speed automatic transmission are standard, but all-wheel drive is optional on most trims. All-wheel drive is standard on the three highest trims.

Design

As a family friendly SUV, the new Honda Pilot has seating for up to eight passengers. However, shoppers who opt for the optional second-row captain chairs will reduce the seating to seven. In the Trailsport trim captain chairs come standard.

Behind the third row, shoppers will find a cargo area of around 16.5 cubic feet. However, in models like the Touring or Elite, the second row can be removed and stored under the floor to open the cargo area to 46.8 cubic feet.

Technology

Throughout every Honda Pilot trim there's a slew of tech to enjoy. A seven-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto is standard. Although higher trims offer a larger nine-inch display with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto capability and controls for the 12-speaker Bose audio system. Navigation system, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and wireless device charging are also offered in higher trims.

Safety

Honda's reputation for safety, means the new Honda Pilot comes installed with a suite of advanced driver-aids called Honda Sensing. Honda Sensing provides drivers with automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and a driver attention warning system to keep them alert.

Trims

The Honda Pilot is offered in six trims:

Sport: As the new base model, the Sport comes with ambient interior lighting, such as LED fog lights, power-adjustable/heated front seats, and a seven-inch touchscreen.

EX-L: Adding to the Sports design, the EX comes equipped with leather-trimmed upholstery, a nine-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a nine-speaker audio system, and an in-cabin intercom system to communicate with the third row.

TrailSport: An off-road centric trim with all-wheel drive, increased ground clearance, underbody skid plates, and second-row captain's chairs.

Touring: Takes the features of the EX-L and Trial Sport and adds more luxurious amenities such as sound-reducing front windows, a navigation system, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Elite: A higher-end trims with a standard surround-view camera system, head-up display, heated second-row seats, and rain-sensing windshield wipers

Black Edition: A new top-tier trim complete with 20-inch gloss-black wheels, Black Edition badges, and other blacked-out elements. There's also a black and white interior with red accents on the steering wheel, seats, and door panels.
