The all-new 2016 Honda Civic is a formidable competitor to its peers in the compact sedan category and is a significant improvement on what was an already terrific car, says Tom Voelk, auto writer for The New York Times, in a new review. Click "play" in the video clip below to watch the full report.

Voelk writes that the 2016 Civic is more powerful, comfortable, spacious, fuel-efficient and stylish, all based on a few platform that makes the car about three inches longer and two inches wider, yet 70 pounds less, than the previous model. The Civic Touring comes with a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine that generates 174 horsepower and 162 pound-foot of torque.
