The NFL season comes to a close this weekend, with the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos battling for the title of Super Bowl champion. As always, the big game promises myriad entertaining ad spots, and Honda is proud to be among them.
The 60-second ad, directed by Oscar-nominee Bryan Buckley, showcases the return of the acclaimed Ridgeline pickup truck and its available industry-first truck-bed audio system. Starring a wily herding dog, and a flock of singing sheep, the spot imagines how a rancher might make use of the innovative new feature.
"Great Super Bowl spots are entertaining for the fans while communicating an essential value of the product, and we believe our Honda Ridgeline commercial accomplishes both objectives in dramatic fashion," said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Automobile Division. "With so many truck buyers passionate about football, the big game is the perfect setting to introduce the all-new Ridgeline, and the distinctive features that make it the ultimate tailgating vehicle."
If you don't mind spoilers, you can view the ad in its entirety on Honda's YouTube channel.
In addition to the truck-bed audio system, The 2017 Ridgeline features an industry-exclusive standard in-bed storage trunk, and dual-action tailgate. It is set to go on sale during the first half of 2016.
