Whether it is with a group of friends on the way to a concert in another town or with your family on vacation, road trips are one of the things that are memorable. Here are a few safety tips to make your vacation adventure fun and stress-free.
While planning your trip, be sure to make time in your schedule to stop for rest breaks, food breaks, phone calls, to refuel and other important business.
Do not drive when you are drowsy or tired. Be aware of any medications that may cause drowsiness. If you are tired on the road, go to the nearest rest stop to take a nap, the closest town for the night to sleep, or have another driver to take over the driving.
Be sure to keep an itinerary and give it to someone back at home that includes a route schedule, time of arrival and contact number at your destination in case something happens on the way. Also, carry emergency contact information such as numbers and other information such as medical needs in case of an accident.
